there once was a time there was a little kid he looked upon the world and knew that it was his there once was this girl she had gone and seen the world it was different from his she had some big ideas "get out of here, find some better place to live" can you believe it? that's what she said went on a quest to find her own head won't she be pissed when she finds out she never left so go and run find some better place to live we'll both be fine we've had some time to figure out we'll never grow old we never had this finally, we'll find we always thought that this time we'd be kind
2.
you just up and left i didn't even get your name let's face it though, forget it i'd have gotten up and left we're all the same i said i'd take a break slept'til one then hit the bank no wonder i can never save i'd have gotten up and left after the way that i behaved they say once in a lifetime a kid like him will come by everyone who knows him will like the way that kid lived his life cup of coffee before i bake start another week off safe chart another star, i'm a dreamer or insane i rest my case if i'm still around i hope that we can get along when you're close everyone else feels so far away

Brave Face 02:44
let's talk about the life i haven't lived yet when i'm old and i'm gray, and i'm bound to regret i was bitter too soon, and i squandered my youth i'll look back and i'll wish i went out on weekends but it's way past mending or making amends it's better this way the green grass on that side of the fence dad always told me "son, careful about wishing, because before you know it you'll be ending transmission" time shows no mercy, nostalgia's a curse pull the brake with urgency, brace yourself for the worst i'm facing mistakes, such as self-made tough breaks quit while you're ahead, say i made it this way i done made my bed, in the gray clouds i'll lay i'll put on this face now like i'm tough and i'm brave cause it's way past mending or making amends it's better this way the green grass on that side of the fence i'll lay
4.
life came up and talked to me "i might be short i might be sweet, but sad isn't something i'd ever wanted to be" i said "won't you grow old with me, i talk tall tales you won't believe" but old isn't something i ever wanted to be i dreamed along the sea last night i've not the stones to dip skinny, though especially not in full-on January instead i stared, a sleepless sky until i'm dead, a sleepless guy i'll be the one who dreams awake all night
5.
everything has changed nothing is the same everything's the same nothing here has changed nothing here has changed everything's the same everything's the same nothing here has changed everything has changed nothing is the same everything has changed nothing is the same you do what you can with the words that are already there that's no reason be unprepared i stand before you arms open, ribs spread this heart is bare the one you called come over singing don't be scared
6.
Heavy 02:19
hang low, hello how goes it? i'm ok though, hello hang low hello yellow, how goes it fellow? who knows? i'm ok though final fine while the winos dine, they think they'll find where the thick vines grow diamond dyno, dial drone halo hello, oh hell no hang low hello yellow, white glows bright 'til it burns out my eyeballs sirens, silos, synths and my scythe can't quite see, but that's all right voices from inside screaming fill up the void might riot, but let's not fight until we're sure hang low hello yellow, how goes it fellow? who knows? i'm ok though
7.
got a girl, she keeps me up all night i know something deep inside's not right because you're out of the picture and you're keeping out of sight and i'm left with a neat frame, hanging heavy on my mind, a silver line with something so plain an empty square, showcased somewhere no one else can see my gallery, all of my rogues look shockingly like me i won't say i'm my worst enemy, i just hate my fucking face blue fades to gray, gray fades to black don't recognize those eyes that are staring back an empty shell, where used to be a man but what good's a future when you have no future plans and i'm left with a weird chain, hanging from my heart and a mix tape called pain never leaves my car sing you're right, i'm wrong this really ain't that bad you're right, i'm wrong and we can still be friends let's stop and take a minute. and we can take a breath and i can put on a face, and be happy despite of what's inside of me wouldn't trade these dreams we've made for happy memories wouldn't have it any other way

Happy Memory 02:26
emergency alert! distress call to all people will someone reassure me that this isn't real? the president on the other line an expert person in his field says "go ahead, squeeze the trigger, kill me dead, go on, seal the deal" bloodshot eyes only see in red blood runs through us all until we meet the end what bull we run through until we shit the bed where exactly are we running? why would we both hide from truth? why would, how could, we should, we shouldn't do this i won't do this to you if i don't write these words out now then they might never come out if i don't write these words down now then there will be shouting like i can't look in a mirror without punching the wall i can't go to that place and work it all out on my mind, there's always a cluttered room i've used up all my thoughts just thinking of you
9.
Hangman 03:20
life goes fast some months have gone by a lot's gone on i've not seen you for a while i'd ask how it's been but i know you're ok a lot's gone on, but we're still the same we're in our own place a "doing me" state with fun on the side it's weekends all day the colors never looked quite so bright this happens to be a magical time right now i'm winning winning the fight that i'll be fighting the rest of my life now it's 4am in Montreal i bet you never planned to get no sleep at all when there's cigarettes and alcohol and eight different types of flavored water maybe someone will let us on their roof if we can sing them Fly Me to the Moon they'll let us in if we talk smooth and show them not all Americans are rude hangman, hangman we waited 'til light we found you cold and airborne you wasted your life
10.
it starts like this i'm still a mess not the type of guy who likes to stand in the way of progress i'll take a pass good for a laugh never any good at math but i enjoy the process i can't wait today i'll follow through though wait, hang on have i thought this through enough? hang on, i'm attempting to temptation, i'll follow you right through i'll swallow my fright, holy christ we bought the zoo, so let's live life sing it's not too late for you sing it's not too late for you
